Friday, April 14th, 1995: "Bobby Munoz was just was just plain nasty on the mound today," according to his batterymate and quite a few of the Florida Marlins after the Pittsburgh hurler fired a 3-0 no-hitter.
The Marlins were powerless against him. "It is what we call in baseball 'filthy'... his stuff was just too much for us today," the losing manager told reporters after the game."
In an overpowering performance Munoz faced 33 batters in all and finish the game with 7 strikeouts and 6 walks.
"After the first couple of innings, I knew I had some good stuff going," Verlander said. "In the bullpen, it really wasn't that good, to be honest. But when I got out on the mound and flipped the switch, I had some pretty good stuff. I had a good fastball with control and I was able to throw my breaking ball and changeup for strikes."

Sunday, April 9th, 1995: Wally Joyner of the Texas Rangers touched all the bases today at Arlington Stadium in the 17-6 victory over Minnesota, hitting for the cycle. He teed off on Twins pitching for a single, double, triple and a home run. The feat is rare in baseball as it requires a game of no fewer than four hits and the unusual combination of a home run, which requires a batter to hit for some power -- and a triple, which requires a batter to have both speed on the basepaths -- and a favorable fall of the ball.
"The hardest part was the triple," confessed Joyner, "A lot has to go right for you to get a triple. It is real easy to get greedy trying to stretch a double and get thrown out. It's really hard to get a three-bagger." He finished his special day with 5 hits in 5 at-bats, 4 runs batted in, 3 runs scored and a place in the record book.
W. Joyner hit a three-run home run off J. Dettmer in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI triple in the 5th, singled in the 6th and doubled in the 9th.
So far in 1995 Joyner has hit .563 with 1 home run and 8 RBIs. He has played in 9 games and scored 6 times.

Saturday, April 15th, 1995: Cincinnati left fielder Hal Morris came into today's game against the Colorado Rockies on a hot streak. When it was over, the Rockies did their job very well. They beat the Cincinnati Reds 5-0 and cooled him off at the same time. Colorado stopped Morris without a hit and his 42-game hitting streak came to an end.
The 30-year-old Morris only had a few words to say after the game, "I had a chance to do it and I came up short."
His manager commented, "What Hal did was exciting and quite an achievement. It's tough enough to get one hit in this league, much less go 42 games in a row. I'm really proud of him. And I'm even more proud of the way he handled the press coverage. He never let the frenzy get to him or affect his play."
Looking at his season stats, Morris has compiled a .439 batting average and a .484 on-base percentage, while hitting 6 home runs and driving in 16 runs.
